I am an actor, writer and comedian based in Chicago. I’ve been performing for over 25 years. I was trained at The Second City in comedy writing and Players Workshop in Improv. I’ve performed with many theater companies including Factory Theater, City Lit Theater and Habakkuk Theatre. For the last 18 years, I’ve been a solo performance artist performing at Fringe Festivals both nationally and internationally. In 2016, I was awarded National Artist of the Year at the St. Lou Fringe Festival. In 2017, I was awarded an Individual Artist Award from the City of Chicago to perform at the Toronto International Fringe Festival. In 2019, I was awarded Best Writing at the Boulder International Fringe Festival. The show is currently in development for television.
In 2020, I was awarded a fellowship from the Stillwell Institute for Contemporary Black Art and founded the Southeast Performance Arts Festival
Outside of acting, I’ve sat on the boards of Habukkuk Theatre and Lorde, Rustin and Bates, Inc.
I am a former trustee with the Evanston Fourth of July Association and served as Celebration Manager for 5 years.
